BAT Malaysia Once Again Recognised as Top Employer
Recognition Reaffirms the Company’s Commitment to Build A Better Tomorrow

Kuala Lumpur, 23 February 2023 – British American Tobacco Malaysia Berhad (BAT Malaysia) has been recognised as a Top Employer in Malaysia for the sixth consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute.  BAT as a group also received the award for Top Employer in the Asia Pacific  and was one of the 15 certified Global Top Employers recognised worldwide by Top Employers Institute.

BAT Malaysia was selected for its outstanding strategies and people practices along with its consistency and commitment to enriching the world of work on a global scale.

Commenting on the recognition, Adrita Datta, Human Resource Director of BAT Malaysia said, “Our people are the heart of BAT Malaysia, and to be recognised for creating an environment where people can flourish makes us incredibly proud. A huge congratulations to all our colleagues for continuing to make BAT Malaysia an inclusive and diverse place to work.”

“Our focus on driving high performance, developing the next generation of leaders, valuing the diversity of our employees, and creating an engaging culture where individuals and teams can be successful, is the cornerstone of our strength. We remain committed to providing meaningful career opportunities for our people and accelerate new capabilities to support our purpose of A Better TomorrowTM.”

Top Employers Institute is the global authority on recognising excellence in people practices.  The Top Employers Institute Programme certifies organisations based on the participation and results of their Human Resources (HR) Best Practices Survey.

The survey which covers six HR domains consisting of 20 topics saw Avanade recognised for its outstanding standards in every assessment category, including: People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Well-Being and more.

David Plink, CEO of Top Employers Institute , observed “The turbulence impacting the workforce over the last few years has led many organisations, including our own, to rethink the way that they approach the changing dynamics of work. Despite all this change certified Top Employers have continued to go above and beyond to maintain their excellent people practices in the workplace.”

Top Employers Institute, like the previous year, took the opportunity to host their virtual Certification Celebration. Alongside the virtual event, there will be a series of in-person events taking place across the world. He concluded, “We are proud to share this year’s announcement and congratulate all Top Employers that have been certified at our third global virtual Certification Celebration. The in-person events, that come not long after the virtual event, will be an opportunity for Top Employers to connect and continue celebrating their certification. The virtual and in-person events are important for certified companies to celebrate their certification and their role in helping to shape a better world of work.”
